Shadow Program

Spend a week working alongside Halle at Heel House K9 and experience what running a real dog training program actually looks like.

This hands-on shadow program is designed for aspiring trainers or dog professionals who want to learn how a working board & train program operates day-to-day. You’ll observe real training sessions, consultations, and daily routines while learning how training, client communication, and operations all work together to create successful outcomes.

Throughout the week, students will participate in discussions, watch demonstrations, and gain hands-on experience working with dogs in training. Topics include behavior modification, structuring board & train programs, client communication, and managing multiple dogs in a professional training environment.

This program focuses not just on training techniques, but also on the real-world skills needed to run a successful dog training business.

• Structuring a board & train program based on dog type and client goals
• Behavior modification and practical training applications
• Client consultations and communication
• Managing boarding and group play with training dogs
• Daily operations, feeding protocols, and record keeping
• Working dogs around real-world distractions
• Creating lesson plans and follow-up notes for clients

Program Details

• 5-day immersive shadow program
• $2,500 per student

Schedule

Monday: 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Lunch break at 1:00 PM (30 minutes)

Tuesday – Friday: 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM
Lunch break at 12:00 PM (1 hour)

During the week, students will observe real training sessions, assist in daily routines, and participate in discussions about training structure, behavior cases, and business operations.

This program is ideal for trainers looking to deepen their understanding of behavior work, board & train structure, and the realities of running a training program.
